Customs for Jordan

Hey guys, I have some customs for Jordan I wanted to share. This guy has given me challenge after challenge and has kept me very busy!! By busy that means experience and business!! Jordan has currently 67 separate orders, these are just a few.

5 Marvel Universe Visions ordered. Jordan supplied a Dare Devil, Moon Knight and a few others for the bases.  I hate YELLOW!!!!

Yellow is truly a customizer's nemesis, but I think I pulled it off.  Can you tell which one is the original Vision?

Repaired Goku's hair by sculpting tendrils and repainting all hair.

Jordan never ceases to amaze me with the knowledge of variants, masks, costumes and character origins.  This guy has given me much support and help as a customer and fellow customizer.  These are Ice Man's variant costume with snowball heads.  This character costume was from Bobby Drake's early origin bio.  He ordered four interchangeable heads.

One of Jordan's most recent orders was for Marvel Zombies.  If you're not familiar with Marvel Zombies check out the graphic novel. Its a great spin off in the Marvel multiverse.  These were really fun to make.  Any other time you are trying to get sculpting to line up perfectly and paint jobs perfect.  With these Zombies it was basically put big holes in them, paint splatter and make them look scary.  The pictures really don't do these justice.  You really need to see them in your hand to appreciate them.  They are available on Ebay.

He just gave me a box of doubles and some broken figures.  I believe there were 18 total and this is how they came out.

Here you have Goliath Zombie, Gladiator Zombie, Iron man Zombie, Wolverine Zombie, Captain America Zombie, The Phoenix Zombie, and Spiderman Zombie.  There are also Powerman Zombie, Hulk Zombie and others in the works. I hope you enjoy, feel free to comment, share and come back soon! These are only a few of the pictures of work I've done for Anticollector Customs.
Thanks

chaz new custom

As promised, another Toybox Laboratory creation. This time its Wilma O'Dell from the "Nothing" series. Chaz sent me a bio and I just ran with it. Wilma is the love interest for the Nothing. She's the girl next door type of girl and a part time exotic dancer. Chaz requested a leather jacket, sneakers, sunglasses, and sexy but classy. This will be my first female 6" custom, and my first big challenge.

Chaz supplied a figure from the magic line for the base. She was some kind of elf.

Stripped down, and filled all holes. Dremeled all joints, knee pads, straps, and paint rub areas.

Sculpting!! This is where you start to see your work coming together. I knew sneakers would be tuff, so I jumped right on those first.

In this next pic, I like to do something that in all my research on action figure customizing, I've never seen or heard suggested. This technique I learned thru many trials & errors. Once im done sculpting, I use a base paint on all parts and reassemble the figure. This allows me to find areas of potential paint rub we all hate as customizers. I've found that even the initial dremeling and sanding of joints don't expose all paint rub areas.
Yes, this is a layer of paint, but its well worth the use. In the end I think of it as a primer for the good paint and definitely improves the overall custom work.

Here it is, with all joints sanded and primed.

Sneakers came out SWEET!!
Lets get some paint on this girl!

A lil dry brush on the jeans and gloves.

sneakers all done

Next, body paint, leather jacket, and face paint. This figure came with a cape and a skirt on the elf. I used the cape to make the jacket and sculpted the sleeves.

Shes almost complete. I sent this pic to Chaz and he was extremely happy.  I try not to send pics of figures while in production to customers unless requested. I wish you guys could see the look on kids (and grown men lol) faces when i give them a product, having not seen any pics.

Here is original package

All done!! I really enjoyed working on this figure, I had a good learning experience in the shop and i feel the figure came out great. Chaz loved it, he now wants a variant costume!!
hhmmm...
Wilma O'Dell in a variant costume?
Exotic dancer....
Lets see what that brings us, thanks for reading,
come back soon to see whats next from the "Nothing" series,
from TOYBOX LANORATORY!!

Buffalo Comic-con

spring 2015 Buffalo comic-con pics

great costumes, we had a good time

custom for chaz

Here is my first customer pics for Chaz. Chaz is a co worker and also a comic writer, he asked me to do some figures for some of his characters. His main character is "The Nothing". He chose a 6" figure and gave me a bio of the character.

I used a Hernandez wrestling figure

Some requests were a gothic N on his chest, an all black face, and a monkey wrench

I chose clothing over sculpting, it just fit the character better

This figure turned out great , for my 1st time, it was fun making and theres always room for improvement. Overall it was a great hands on experience. Chaz loved the figure so much he immediately ordered 6 more figures!!
Soon to come Wilma O'Dell from the "Nothing" series. Also Toybox  Laboratory exclusive, Horseman of the Apocalypse"!!
Hope you enjoyed,
Stay Tuned!!!
